about Megan Sabatino, ACSW
Associate Social Worker

Hi, I’m Megan. Outside of my clinical work, there are a few things I like clients to know about me as a person. I value curiosity and creativity, and I enjoy spending time with art, museums, and design—especially work that feels thoughtful and expressive. I’m also a parent, which has deepened my appreciation for patience, humor, and the importance of meeting people where they are. In my downtime, I enjoy quieter routines like walking, listening to music or podcasts, and watching character-driven TV shows that explore relationships, growth, and human complexity.

I understand mental and emotional difficulties as meaningful responses to life experiences, relationships, and environments—rather than personal failures or flaws. Distress often develops in the context of stress, trauma, loss, developmental challenges, or unmet needs, and can show up differently across stages of life.

At the same time, I recognize that biological, psychological, relational, and cultural factors all play a role in mental health. I view symptoms as signals that something important is happening internally or externally, and therapy as a space to better understand those signals, build regulation and coping skills, and support healing and growth.

My areas of expertise center on helping clients navigate the effects of trauma and chronic stress, particularly when these experiences impact emotional regulation, relationships, identity, and day-to-day functioning. I have had strong success working with individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves or others, and who are seeking greater stability, clarity, and self-understanding.

I often work with clients facing anxiety related to safety, control, or uncertainty; difficulties managing strong emotions; challenges in relationships or family dynamics; and the impact of life transitions such as parenting changes, separation, loss, or shifts in role or identity. I also support clients who are navigating the intersection of trauma with substance use, as well as those adjusting to neurodivergence or long-standing patterns that affect how they relate to themselves and others.

I value therapy as a thoughtful and relational process, and I approach my work with curiosity, care, and respect for each person’s pace. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel safe enough to slow down, reflect, and be met with consistency and honesty.

Clients can expect a thoughtful, collaborative, and trauma-informed therapeutic experience that is responsive to developmental needs across the lifespan. I work to create a space that feels grounded, respectful, and emotionally safe, where clients feel heard and understood without pressure to have everything figured out.

What clients have to say about working with me

Clients have shared that they appreciate my calm, grounded presence and feel genuinely heard and understood in our work together. Many have noted that therapy feels thoughtful and well-paced, with a balance of support and structure that helps them feel safe while still making progress. Clients have also reflected that they value my ability to explain things clearly, connect patterns across experiences, and adapt my approach to their individual needs and developmental stage. Parents and caregivers have shared that they feel included, respected, and supported when collaboration is part of the work. Overall, clients often describe our work as steady, collaborative, and supportive—helping them feel more regulated, confident, and equipped to navigate challenges over time.
