about Tracy Truong, Psy.D
Hello! I’m Dr. Tracy Truong. I am a bilingual (English/Vietnamese) provider who grew up in the heart of Little Saigon in Orange County. My hope is to assist patients in navigating mental health care with culturally sensitive support.
I believe that mental and emotional difficulties stem from a complex interplay of life experiences, stress, and biological factors. My goal is to help clients make sense of their journey, providing them with the skills and confidence to navigate life’s challenges with hope and healing.
I am also a certified provider in both Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Parent-Child Care (PC-CARE) through UC Davis:
PCIT is an evidence based program for parents of children (ages 2-7) experiencing behavioral challenges like aggression, defiance, or frequent tantrums. I do live coaching sessions and work together with the parent and child to improve their bond and build effective management skills and improve overall behavioral compliance.
PC-CARE is the briefer version of PCIT with a high focus on trauma and emotional regulation. It is an evidence based, short term 7-week treatment program for caregivers of children (ages 1–10) who are looking to improve their relationship with their child and learn ways to manage difficult behaviors. This program supports children who have experienced trauma, has challenges with new living adjustments, or presents with defiant behaviors.
When working with me, clients can expect a warm, empathetic, and genuinely supportive space. I believe in meeting people where they are, listening deeply, and understanding each person’s unique story. I tailor my sessions to best fit the needs of each individual, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and empowered to create meaningful change.
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, cooking, watching anime, drawing/painting, and spending time with my tabby cat, Thom. Life’s all about finding joy and balance, and I encourage my clients to do the same.
